Amusing...

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

This is very amusing considering I've LIVED (and still currently live) in the South. I've lived here MY WHOLE LIFE. xD~!!

It's the fact that the Midland accent has become more or less the standard "American" accent as far as the media goes. I got it, too.

What amuses me is that I apparently have more of a Boston/ North Central accent than a Southern one.
The fact that they gloss all Southern accents as the same makes me suspiscious of this thing, anyways.

*nods* Indeed. Seriously makes you wonder ne? I suppose what classifies as a Southern accent is that horrible drawl and ignorant redneck mangling of the English language.

I know one of the main reasons I never picked up that accent is because of my dad. Both parents are from Florida but Dad's parents were both from the New England area. So because Dad never had the accent, neither did I. Mom's got it a little bit but not bad enough that it bothers me or anything. ^^ Her family's from Georgia. I also can change accents really well. Been doing that since I was little. Also use to change the pitch in my voice a lot growing up also. ^^
